I am married to Patrick Haughaboo (7th grade Social Studies teacher at Cedar Ridge) and we have two girls: Alice (8) and Lucy (4). Before moving to Decatur, I lived in the Atlanta, Georgia area and worked at Wheeler High School in Marietta (an Atlanta suburb) for six years. I am a graduate of Auburn University (B.S. English Education) and Georgia State University (M.Ed. English Education).
I enjoy hanging out with my family, running with my friends, and traveling during breaks from school.
I am currently reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
I enjoy running 5k, 10k, and half marathons. I completed my first marathon (26.2 miles) in the Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon on February 28, 2016. It was very difficult, but also fulfilling. I am always training for a new race. Right now, I am preparing for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in New Orleans on February 5th and the Carnegie Frolic Half Marathon on February 25th.
My favorite place to visit is New Orleans because of its proximity to Decatur and the richness of NOLA culture.
